The Department is well integrated with research in the University as a whole; a new program has just been created in Software Engineering and Mechatronics Graduates from the program have an excellent track record in attaining employment and starting rewarding careers PhD graduates have found positions in academia, research laboratories and industry. MASc graduates also find employment in industry. Several graduate students have even started their own spin-off company Faculty are partners in three National Network of Centers of Excellence and have also been remarkably successful in gaining large research infrastructure grants from both the provincial and federal governments

The Faculty of Engineering is housed in three new buildings: Engineering Office Wing, Engineering Laboratory Wing and Engineering/Computer Science Building.
