The Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering (BCEE) offers a variety of degree programs. Programs can lead to a Master of Engineering (MEng), Master of Applied Sciences (MASc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Students learn from a multidisciplinary team of faculty, research and technical personnel and in advanced labs and computer facilities. The Department is home to the Centre for Building Studies, an internationally recognized interdisciplinary research centre that has played a key role in the development of Canada's building engineering field. It also houses the Solar Buildings Research Network.
The MEng program is designed to provide practicing engineers with an opportunity to strengthen and expand their knowledge in basic areas of building, civil and environmental engineering. Students in MASc programs develop expertise in a single area of interest.
Highlights
MASc and PhD programs have a large selection of available research areas MEng program has a large selection of courses Graduate certificates offered in building and environmental engineering Extensive research facilities include specialized labs and the Centre for Building Studies Solar Building Research Network is currently the major Canadian research effort in solar energy utilization in buildings Is home to 3 Endowed Research Chairs Department receives approximately $4 million in research funding annually
